Boyce Thompson Arboretum's

During May, June, July and August

hours: are 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily; arrive early to enjoy cool morning hours and a chorus of songbirds as you walk the trails before eight a.m.

Admission: of $7.50 for adults or $3 for ages 5-12 includes Weekend Nature Walks.

Location: Highway 60 milepost #223 near the historic copper mining town of Superior, 55 miles due east of Phoenix. The drive takes about two hours from Tucson via highway 79 North through Florence to highway 60 -- then turn right and continue east another twelve miles. There is no restaurant at the Arboretum but sandwiches, drinks and snacks are available in our gift shop. Picnic tables and charcoal grills are available for visitors to use. Pets are welcome, provided they remain leashed at all times and are well-behaved. Explore the Garden after Dark
When: May 1 to August 30, 2008
Thursdays and Saturdays May, June, July and August 7 - 9 p.m.
Where: located in Phoenix on 145 acres in the midst of the red rock buttes of Papago Park at 1201 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, Arizona 85008.
Experience a magical twilight adventure in the Garden this summer. Witness the mysterious and beautiful opening of night-blooming flowers, smell the damp air of the pond while listening to singing toads and crickets, and examine a tarantula close up.
Flashlight tours are free with admission. Reservations recommended. Make reservations by phone at 480-941-3510 or email flashlight@dbg.org. Include your name, requested tour date, and number of people in your party. Wear walking shoes and bring a flashlight and water bottle.
Garden Hours
The Garden is open seven days a week, year round except for July 4, Thanksgiving Day and December 25.
Garden Seasonal Hours: October - April / 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
May -September 7 a.m.-8 p.m. During evening hours certain trails are closed.

Mystery Castle

The Mystery Castle is an odd three-story home built out of stone, adobe, automobile parts, colored glass, and other odds and ins Boyce Gulley gathered from different parts around the state. He constructed this home from 1930-until his death in 1945. The mystery castle has the charm of a sandcastle, which it is meant to resemble. Mary Lou Gulley, his daughter stills lives in this home and offers guided tours.
Mystery Castle has 18 rooms and 13 fireplaces. Some items in the house have well-known names associated with them--original Frank Lloyd Wright furniture (yes, you can sit on the sofa), John Wayne items in the bar, and Barry Goldwater gave Mr. Gulley some furniture for the project.

Tour Chase Field

Visit one of the most impressive and unique Major League Baseball facilities in the country - Chase Field. It is home to the 2001 World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks, several restaurants, a beer garden - even a retractable roof and swimming pool - all within an old-style ballpark atmosphere. Tours are conducted year-round, for both individuals and groups.

Tours last approximately 75 minutes.
This is a walking tour, so please dress accordingly.
Elevators are used several times during the course of the tour. Please let your tour guide know in advance if this presents any challenges.
Tours are wheelchair accessible, and wheelchairs are available for your use during the tour. You may request a wheelchair at the Tour Ticket Window prior to the tour.
The majority of the tour route is NOT air-conditioned.
Please note that backpacks, large bags, and food and drink (except water) are prohibited.
Cameras, video cameras and bottled water are permitted.
Cell phones and pagers are permitted, providing their use does not interfere with other guests' enjoyment of the tour.
The tour does not go on to the playing field.
Parking is available at the Chase Field Garage. Present your parking ticket at the Tour Ticket Window to receive a special parking validation rate of $2 per vehicle (excluding pre-game tours). No Tours will be held on the days of day games, major holidays, and special events.
